Steve directed the UGA Jazz Band in a concert featuring the music of vibraphonist Lionel Hampton on Thursday, October 8th at 8:00 PM in Hodgson Hall.
Tony McCutchen was featured on vibes and drums, performing tunes arranged and recorded by Hampton and his orchestra, Fletcher Henderson, Benny Goodman, Charlie Christian, Oscar Peterson and many others. The concert made clear why Hamp is recognized as one of the greats. The Lionel Hampton Salute is available for concert and festival bookings.
